Sony和微軟(Microsoft)的遊戲主機大戰即將開打，IHS Games and Research預估，首賣時Sony PlayStation 4銷量將小勝微軟Xbox One，2017年底PS4會進一步拉開差距、甩掉對手。

根據CNBC和Digital Spy，IHS 13日報告表示，今年底為止Sony僅會微幅超越對手，估計PS4將賣出240萬台，Xbox One賣出220萬台。但是到2017年底時，雙方將出現明顯差距，預料PS4會賣出4,900萬台、Xbox One則賣出3,800萬台。

Sony記取PS3定價過高的教訓，這回PS4售價硬是比Xbox One便宜100美元，IHS認為價格優勢可望強化PS4在北美和英國的銷售潛力。

除此之外，受到地區品牌忠誠度影響，預期Xbox One在北美銷量將超越PS4，PS4在歐洲銷量則可贏過Xbox One。Sony的地區品牌忠誠度吸引力較廣，特別是在歐洲大陸和日本地區，2017年底PS4的全球銷量可望因此壓倒對手。

PS4本週五(15日)北美開賣，11月29日於歐洲上市；Xbox One將在11月22日於13國開賣。

gamesindustry.biz報導，軟體開發商Activision Blizzard Inc.執行長Bobby Kotick 6日在財報電話會議上表示，微軟、Sony各自推出的新世代遊戲主機都明顯提高了製造效率，未來有機會提前調降硬體價格。根據報導，PS4、Xbox One皆採用現有的PC架構，對兩家公司而言也許較能提前降價。
