美國12月新增就業僅7.4萬人，創2011年初以來最低水準，顯示進入2014年，美國動能並不如其他系列經濟指標所顯示般強勁。

12月失業率下降至6.7%，創2008年10月以來低點，11月為7.0%，但失業率下降，主要係因更多人退出了勞工力。

接受MarketWatch公司調查的分析師平均預估，12月新增就業為19.3萬人，失業率持平於7.0%。

勞工部周五說，12月零售業新增就業最多，為5.5萬人，製造業亦提升了就業。

但其他各行業徵人疲弱，一反11月大幅增加的情況。

平均每小時工資上升2美分至24.17美元。

平均每周工時下降0.1小時至34.4小時。

勞動力參與率下降2點至62.8%，平了35年來低點。

11月新增就業由20.3萬人上修至24.1萬人。

10月新增就業持平於20萬人。

根據初步數據，美國去年新增就業人數幾與2012年相同。
