挑戰三連霸的Victoria Azarenka持續挺進，以橫掃之姿過關，搶下三十二強門票，而「鷹國希望」Andy Murray也朝首座澳網冠軍的目標邁進，來到了第三輪。

來自白俄羅斯、名列大會第二種子的Azarenka，生涯兩座大滿貫冠軍皆來自澳網，2012與2013年分別擊敗Maria Sharapova與李娜奪冠。

今天（16）第二輪遭遇捷克選手Barbora Zahlavova Strycova，以6-1、6-4將對手淘汰出局，她說：「我覺得我打得很好，很高興能兩盤就結束比賽。」

Murray在第二輪面對的是來自法國的Vincent Millot，以兩個6-2取下前兩盤，但在第三盤碰上點狀況，一度陷於1-5落後，但在化解對手盤末點後連連追分得手，最後以7-5收下勝利。

他在下一輪要面對西班牙選手、大會二十六種子Feliciano Lopez ，Murray曾在2010、2011與2013年打進決賽，第一次敗給Roger Federer，後兩次都敗給Novak Djokovic。
