2012年7月12，第23屆南區高中棒球聯賽(以下簡稱南聯)四強賽，雄中在延長賽中被三民高中的再見安打擊敗。賽後，雄中101級即將畢業的高三生們坐在休息室不發一語，因為在他們生命中，能以「雄中」姿態拿冠軍的最後一個夢，碎了。
