入圍本屆奧斯卡最佳外語片的《遺失的映像》，性質雖為紀錄片，但由於當時的影片記錄殘存不多，因此導演以泥土塑造上萬名人偶，呈現1975-1979「紅色高棉大屠殺」歷史紀實。
