馬總統12日下午到嘉義市兆品酒店參加國民黨縣市長會報，馬未抵達前，大批綠營人士在場外馬路旁舉布條布旗高喊「馬英九下台！」與大批警力對峙，市議員蔡文旭、王美惠到場聲援，有人拿義肢假腿諷刺馬，警方一度舉牌，總統車隊經過，群眾丟鞋，警方高舉防護網阻擋，仍有鞋子丟在車上，總統安全進入飯店。
